Premises: this is about an argument that is always a subject of discussion for pet lovers all over America. The never ending feud is about which type of people are better in terms of personality, cat people or dog people?

Conclusion: there is no clear winner as to which type of people are better since both have their strengths and weaknesses. A few things are common for both types of people. Both are friendly to animals of all kinds, are equally likely to be in possession of a university degree and have the capacity to empathize with animals and people alike.

The argument is a deductive argument because the goodness or badness of a person cannot be exclusively established just by the type of pet they own. As a result, measurable information cannot be obtained and analyzed. That said, there are some qualities that are considered common to dog lovers and to cat lovers.

This is a valid argument because either a cat owner or a dog owner may be considered better than a person without a pet. In this situation however, they both own pets and have advantages and disadvantages that make it difficult to pick out a winner.

The argument is sound because it has two parties who have varying degrees of advantages that from any perspective, make them equally matched and therefore impossible to pick a winner.

It is a weak argument since the conclusion does not depend on the premises. The conclusion requires a separate analysis that is not dependent on the premises.

The argument is uncogent because it has compared two parties that are affected by different aspects and that present competitive variables that would most likely give parallel results.
